Roland White

Roland White has over 35 years experience in strategic planning and consulting to Energy and Advanced Technology clients. He has specialized in new technology integration and disruptive technology impacts on markets and stockholders. His other broad career achievements are:

  • Began his business career in sales and marketing with the Gillette Company and the Gallo Winery where he was Area Manager for Southern California, the largest wine market in the U. S. In seven years wine sales in southern California tripled
  • Developed a successful startup manufacturing business based on an appliance he invented called “The Washing Machine” which fits in the corner of a shower and dispensed liquid soap, shampoo, and conditioner.  The Washing Machine became the number one selling appliance in southern California. The appliance and soap line were sold for a profit.
  • Applied for and was awarded an original Coors distributorship in Houston, Texas, which he successfully operated with his brother for 10 years.
  • Formed Cambridge Consulting Group, a Strategic Planning and General Management Advisory Group Specializing in developing internal and external growth options.  Analyzed acquisition candidates and product and service lines.  Worked internationally with clients to grow product and service strategies.  Principal Cambridge clients included: Shell Development, the Research and Development arm of Shell Oil; Texas Instruments; Elf Aquitaine; The Western Company; The French Ministry of Industry and Finance; Valero Energy; American Airlines; Southwestern Bell (both pre and post the breakup of AT&T); Radio Shack; CompUSA; Bellcore and Bell Labs; and numerous other manufacturing, retail, real estate and energy service and equipment companies.
  • Spent 7 years working in partnership with Citicorp Venture Capital and various investment banking firms in identifying, qualifying and negotiating terms of acquisitions.  Developed 400+ acquisition candidates for his partners.  Post-acquisition responsibilities typically included serving as a member of the board or management team where his primary object was to create value through innovation by growing top line revenues and margins on a low cost Capex basis.  Among companies acquired were large restaurant franchise groups, distribution companies, energy equipment and service companies, and manufacturing businesses.
  • Mr. White manages an active investment portfolio and currently serves as Chairman of an Underground Coal Gasification Company and also as Chairman of an Education Software Company.  He enjoys helping Entrepreneurs in developing strategies and securing capital to grow their businesses and also helping troubled companies in overcoming problems and getting back on track.
